MA, RMHCI · Division I Golfer · Mental Performance Coach
The mental game separates good players from great ones. Whether you're a junior athlete chasing a college scholarship, an amateur looking to compete with confidence, a working professional ready to elevate every part of your game, or a pro athlete looking for a mental edge — this is where that work begins.
I'm Matt Epstein — a mental performance coach, registered mental health counseling intern, and former Division I golfer based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. I work with golfers and high-performing athletes who are ready to close the gap between their physical ability and their results on the course.
"Everyone has the capacity to grow, adapt, and move toward a life that feels more aligned, fulfilling, and intentional."
At William & Mary, I competed on scholarship as a Division I athlete while graduating cum laude with a degree in Psychology. I was a 2× MIAA State Champion in high school, a 3× Boston Globe All-Scholastic, and the Massachusetts Junior Amateur Runner-Up. I've competed since the age of six.
I completed my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University, with additional coursework from Harvard and Stanford in resilience and positive psychology. I currently work at Juno Counseling & Wellness and serve as Head of Business Development and Mental Performance Coach at CAPE — where our team works with PGA Tour players, MLB professionals, and serious amateurs.
Every program is built around the individual. We figure out what's actually going on and work from there.
Building the focus, confidence, and emotional tools that let your game show up when it counts.
Licensed clinical counseling on an individual basis — 1-on-1 sessions for adults and teens addressing anxiety, performance, the mind-body connection, and personal growth.
Ongoing 1-on-1 work combining mental performance, recruiting guidance, and personal development — built around you.
Here's what I think sets our work apart.
Four years as a scholarship athlete at William & Mary. I understand the pressure, the recruiting process, and what it actually takes to compete collegiately — not from a textbook, but from doing it.
My graduate training in clinical mental health counseling — alongside a deep personal interest in Stoic philosophy — means the work goes beyond typical coaching. Grounded in both modern psychology and ancient wisdom.
Through my experience as a D1 athlete and my work with CAPE — where our team supports players across all levels of the game — I have a genuine understanding of what competitive golf demands, mentally and emotionally.
No one-size-fits-all programs. Every client gets a customized approach based on their game, their goals, and what's actually holding them back. We start by listening.
